The Universal Rights of the Cannabis User.
All humans enjoy certain inalienable rights bequeathed by our common history.
No government can rightfully inflict suffering on its citizens for no good reason.
No government can rightfully restrict access to an essential medicine.
No government can create ‘crime’ where there is no harm.
Cannabis -
has been cultivated by humans for as long as we have been ‘human’.
has been used by millions of humans for the whole of known history.
is used, consumed, and enjoyed, on every continent on earth, by every class of people.
Prohibition -
is a failed strategy from a bygone era.
was introduced by moneyed interests for corporate reasons.
is maintained by moneyed interests despite it inflicting great harm.
is maintained by weak politicians, the puppets of big business and the church. creates ‘crime’ where there are no victims and no harm inflicted – except by action of the law itself.
stops sick and dying people getting an essential medicine.
demeans our law, lawmakers, police, and society.
The HEMP Party declares the Universal Rights of the Cannabis User
Humans enjoy certain inalienable rights:
We have a right to peaceably inhabit and cultivate arable lands.
We have a right to access healthy uncontaminated food.
We have a right to fashion and wear our choice of clothing and garments.
We have a right to adequate housing.
We have a right to the common benefit of medicinal and other herbs.
So:
To be able to cultivate, use, and consume cannabis, is a human birthright.
