HEMP gives preference to Sex Party

In the Victorian State Election on November 27th, the Help End Marijuana Prohibition (HEMP) Party believes that the Sex Party has better policies on drug law reform than any other Party on the ballot.

“We advocate for a new approach to drugs, which will replace a criminal framework with a community health and administrative response.” from the Sex Party web site. http://www.sexparty.org.au

The policy on Cannabis is: “Legalise and regulate cannabis for specific medical use. Marijuana and cannabis products have been identified as a desirable treatment option for a variety of medical purposes. The Australian Sex Party supports the use of cannabis for medical purposes when expert opinion deems it appropriate.”
The phrase; ‘when expert opinion deems it appropriate’, lacks clarity. The re-classification of Cannabis is not mentioned, and there’s little detail on the regulation of medical cannabis.
